The Javea region is home to many outstanding beaches with beautiful sandy stretches as well as secluded coves for scuba diving and swimming. The following beaches can be found in the Javea region and close to the main town of Javea:
La Grava Beach - Located at Javea Port, it comprises a thin shingle beach with beautiful clear waters close to the town centre. Very popular in the Summer with sunbathers and for walks in the warm evenings. It is backed by cafes and restaurants and then stretches towards the main port to the north.
El Arenal - The main beach to the south of Javea port. It stretches for half a mile with beautiful sand and palm trees to the rear. Extremely popular at all times of the year but especially in the summer. This wonderful beach at Javea also has shower facilities and volleyball as well as shade if necessary. In the warm Summer evenings, El Arenal comes alive with the restaurants flanked by a vibrant street market
and street entertainers. Not to be missed at anytime.
Cala Blanca - Small beach surrounded by white cliffs with an interesting and intricate layout of rockpools to its left. The beach can only be reached on foot, but there is parking nearby so you don't have to walk too far.
La Barraca o Portitxol - Large pebble cove looking out to the
picturesque Isle of Portitxol. The water surrounding the beach is
shallow and this makes it ideal for paddling or safe snorkling.
A selection of restaurants behind the beach add to the charm.
Ambolo - Pebble cove which is just south of the Cap de la Nau,
the nearest point between the mainland and the island of Ibiza. Extremely picturesque and quiet and the beach is used
by naturists.
La Granadella - A delightful beach which comprises a secluded
pebble cove (once used by smugglers). It also has a couple
of restaurants overlooking the beach. Extremely good for
scuba diving and snorkelling.
